On July 8, Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone and Suzhou Port and Shipping Group jointly held the Yangtze River Delta (Taicang) International Fruit Trading Market Project Launch Event. Wang Xiangyuan, Secretary of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Taicang Port, Chen Jianbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Suzhou Port and Shipping Group, and Wang Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, attended the event. At the scene, Wang Xiangyuan, Chen Jianbin, Wang Yu and others jointly pushed the lever to launch the Yangtze River Delta (Taicang) International Fruit Trading Market Project. At the event, under the joint witness of Wang Xiangyuan, Chen Jianbin, Wang Yu and others, Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, Suzhou Port and Shipping Group Taicang Investment Development Co., Ltd., Hehui Yinong (Beijing) Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Houshu Digital Technology Co., Ltd. formally signed the Southeast Asian imported fruit project.

The project is led by Suzhou Port and Shipping Group Taicang Investment Development Co., Ltd., with a planned total investment of 100 million yuan. It mainly builds warehouse supporting cold chain facilities. The first phase plans to use 20,000 square meters of cold storage, and the second phase plans to use 50,000 square meters of cold storage. The fruit trade will exceed 10,000 tons within three years. The project will gradually roll out fruit transit, ripening, picking, and distribution services, use digital technology to build an industrial cluster big data platform, and build a fresh cold chain logistics supply chain system for the Taicang Port Comprehensive Hub (multimodal transport) Logistics Park, and strive to become a national port-type fresh cold chain multimodal transport demonstration base. Jointly build the Yangtze River Delta Fresh Cold Chain Industry Alliance, absorb the fruit and other agricultural product bases, processing enterprises, e-commerce platforms and other upstream and downstream enterprises in the region to gather and develop, open direct cold chain trains to Xinjiang, Central Asia, Russia and other places, and cooperate with customs, border inspection and other departments to establish a “green channel” for fresh goods, shape the core competitiveness of international fresh products rapid customs clearance direct service, and attract well-known domestic and foreign fresh enterprises to settle in the regional headquarters.

The Southeast Asian imported fruit trade project is aimed at wholesale, e-commerce, supermarkets, retailers and other customer groups. It sells dragon fruit, banana, durian and other fruit products, and plans to provide fruit supply chain services such as refrigeration and ripening. The project is expected to achieve an annual fruit trade volume of more than 200 million yuan within two years and more than 1 billion yuan within three years. The company has currently used Taicang Port to carry out banana and dragon fruit business.
